Humor is as prevalent in Jewish Culture as gefilte fish and yet as unable to be categorized as … gefilte fish. Through this three week examination of form and content we will discuss some of the foundations upon which Jewish Humor can be built. We will also provide some opportunities to get on your feet and feel what the style is like in the mouth and body and explore what that can do to the heart and to the mind.

Jonathan McCarter is the Education and Outreach Manager for North Carolina Theatre Conservatory. Jonathan has been teaching for over 12 years. Before moving to Raleigh Jonathan was Artistic Director for Jonesborough Repertory Theatre, in Jonesborough, TN and prior to that Director of Education and Outreach for Opera Memphis. He received his BFA in Performance Theatre from University of Memphis. Between TN and NC he has directed over 30 productions in local area theatres as well as had multiple plays of his own produced and performed. Jonathan spent 5 years writing and directing an annual production for the Memphis JCC and wrote and directed a Slichot series for Temple Beth Or last year.
