The first Hollywood film shot in the new state of Israel, just five after 1948 and the first Arab-Israeli War. Kirk Douglas plays a Holocaust survivor of the camps, a professional juggler, who has immigrated to pre-Israel Palestine, where he copes with overcoming deep loses and struggles to make a new beginning. And yes, Douglas actually juggles in the film.
The JCC Jewish Film Series is made possible by the generosity of Gerry Elkan & Funded in part by a BJH Foundation Grant.
