Want to know how to pickle? Puzzled about Probiotics? Curious about what the two of them have in common? Then this program is for you.
Do you love the pickles you get at an authentic Jewish deli and wonder how those half-sours and full-sours are made and why they taste so much better than most store bought pickles? Did you know that these “kosher” pickles are a health food, rich in probiotics? Join us for a full vegetarian lunch featuring home-made, probiotic-rich, authentic “kosher” pickles and learn to make your own, taking home a jar of pickles that you make.
About the Instructor:
Debbie Goldberg, a journalist and owner of A Positive Aptitude, a tutoring company, loves teaching and empowering others to make the most of their lives. A self-proclaimed connoisseur of Jewish deli foods, Debbie researched and learned to make the pickles, pickled green tomatoes and sauerkraut she grew up eating in Jewish delis in Miami and New York. Knowing that these naturally fermented foods are not only great tasting but also healthy (rich in pro-biotics), Debbie welcomes the opportunity to pass along her pickling techniques to others.
JCC Members: $10.00 General Community: $18.00
