This 3 week Journeys Class will explore the topic of Food; through the lenses that are universal and Jewish, intellectual and emotional, artistic and nutritional, literary and just plain fun! We will explore the idea of bread as a universal symbol from cultural, historical, religious, and personal perspectives.  This class will attempt to create a community in which learning and sharing are intermingled with doing and pleasure!
Class dates: Wednesday, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and 13

Meet the Instructor:
Rabbi Marc Kasten is no stranger to Wake County. He lived in Raleigh and Cary for a decade and was an active member of the Raleigh-Cary Jewish community, teaching at religious schools and working at the JCC summer camp, before moving to Israel to begin his rabbinical journey. Rabbi Kasten was ordained as a Reform rabbi at Hebrew Union College, in Cincinnati, after earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from North Carolina State University and Xavier University, respectively. Along with his wife Rachel, and their son Emory, Rabbi Kasten returned home to Wake County this summer.
